Do you have a fatty liver?

I once worked as a food processor at Vevic Farms.
.
.
One of the operations at Vevic Farms includes degutting and cleaning catfish before smoking. The farm was short of the targeted amount of smoked fish needed, so we had to outsource a substantial amount of fresh fish.
.
.
.
As a supervisor supervising a degutting session, I noticed that the internal organs of the outsourced fresh fish were quite different from those grown on our farms. These outsourced fish had so much fat. The liver was big and pale coloured with patches. I immediately knew that this condition must have resulted from the kind of feed given to the fish. Some fish farmers feed their fish solely for weight gain, not minding the adverse consequences on the consumers’ health since more weight brings more money.

.
Fast forward to recently when I got inspired to write about fatty liver. My mind immediately went back to the encounter mentioned above.

Fatty liver is a ‘silent’ type of liver disease that gradually escalates to cancer. It starts from poor nutrition of junk and processed foods.

.
But gladly, switching to a nutrient-dense diet can reverse this liver disease.
