Introduction
While you make smoothie, salad, or juice from fruits, there are lots of leftover fruit scraps, majorly the peel which should not go in the trash. Processing these peels to different forms is a novel step in their sustainable utilization.
Fruit peels are rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
One of the ways to process fruit peels is by brewing tea out of them. A good example is the pineapple peel tea. Pineapple peel contains bromelain which helps to lower blood pressure, battle glaucoma, relieve arthritis or joint pain, prevent blood clots and fight constipation. Moreover, it contains a high amount of vitamin C which boosts the body’s immunity. The peel is also rich in manganese which is good for teeth and bone health.
